Sequans Increases Bitcoin Holdings to 3,072 BTC Amid Crypto Volatility

Paris-based technology firm Sequans Communications has significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings, now totaling 3,072 BTC, reflecting a $358 million investment as part of a long-term cryptocurrency reserve strategy, the company announced. The move comes amid continued market volatility in the cryptocurrency sector.

On July 25, 2025, Sequans disclosed the acquisition of an additional 755 Bitcoins. This latest purchase augments a previous investment made on July 18, when the company bought 1,264 Bitcoins for approximately $150 million. Sequans' total expenditure on Bitcoin now stands at $358.5 million, with an average purchase price of $117,296 per coin, inclusive of all expenses and charges.

The mean value of all the coins altogether is approximately $116,690 per coin. Funding for these acquisitions was secured through a public offering issued on July 7, 2025.

Sequans has designated Bitcoin as its primary reserve asset, signaling a shift away from traditional assets. This decision indicates that the company intends to prioritize Bitcoin over cash or other conventional reserves in its future financial strategy. Traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Sequans' embrace of Bitcoin has garnered attention from investors and the broader crypto community.

The company intends to leverage not only capital raised through offerings but also revenue generated from its operations and technology licensing to further expand its Bitcoin holdings.
